The pandemic has advanced digitization in many ways. Data Science is viewed as a critical element in the pandemic response. Bringing together scholars and experts from various disciplines such as physics, biostatistics, population, and computer science, this panel discussion discovers how data can help us understand, predict, and manage the pandemic.

Questions we have: 

  • What role does data science play in understanding and managing the pandemic?
  • How can the physical theory of complex systems help predict the course of the pandemic?
  • How does the WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence in Berlin help understand the development of the pandemic?
  • Does Germany and the US approach pandemic data differently, and why?
  • How could Game Theory solve the COVID-19 vaccine rollout puzzle?
  • How can AI and Knowledge Automation help to manage the pandemic?
